Iyengar Yoga Workshop for National Iyengar Yoga Day

  • Prana Yoga 85 Walton Street Oxford, England, OX2 6EA United Kingdom (map)

In this workshop Sophia will introduce you to some of the things that define the Iyengar approach to yoga. We will look at how this approach links to the Yoga Sutras and what benefits it can bring to our bodies, minds, and spirits. These elements include alignment, long holds of each asana with deep attention to how we work within the posture, concentration and awareness, and the use of props to either help us achieve an otherwise difficult asana, to help us practice in a way that’s safe when we have injuries or health conditions, or to bring a new understanding to a familiar asana by working in a different way.

Sophia has been teaching Iyengar since 2011. She continues to attend classes and workshops with Senior Iyengar teachers, to study both asana practice and philosophy as a lifelong journey. She is also a poet, practices mantra & meditation, and is a Thai Yoga Massage therapist.

This workshop is suitable for all levels.
Cost: £30
