Autumn Sunday Workshop

  • Upper Hall, St Michaels Church Hall Summertown OX2 7EZ (map)

In this workshop we will practice a mixture of standing, seated and inverted asana, looking at the actions in each posture to gain a deeper understanding and to experience the asana in new ways. The latter part of the workshop will include some restorative practice to rest the body after the stronger asanas, and to include a more meditative/Sattvic practice which is such an important part of yoga as a whole.

The venue, the Upper Hall at St Michael’s Church in Summertown, has been chosen because it’s a large space and will therefore allow us to be together in a slightly bigger group whilst still maintaining social distancing measures. The space is light, open, and beautiful.

Please bring your own equipment, you will need: a yoga mat, 4 yoga blocks, 2 bricks, 1 belt. if you are able to bring a blanket it’s helpful but not essential. If you want to bring a bolster that’s also good but not essential.

Please bring some warm layers of clothing in case you feel cold during the restorative practice.

This workshop will be open to everyone who has a minimum of 1 year of regular Iyengar yoga practice. If you’re not sure whether the workshop is suitable for you please do get in touch to discuss.

Price: £40. To book please email sophiaargyris@hotmail.com
